Duck's General Store

Duck’s General Store is owned and managed by Pat and Don Zerbe. Originally from Wilmington, Delaware we started coming to Duck in 1987 and moved down permanently in 1994.

We bought Duck’s General Store in 1996 from Maggie and Jeff Cox who own Barr-ee Station next door to us. The objective was to give us something to do in our retirement. We had no retail experience, so the first few years were an adventure. We expected to own the store for 2-3 years, but agreed that we would keep the store as long as it was fun. Twelve years later we’re still going strong. We have a great manager and staff that allow us to travel often and enjoy our grandchildren who live nearby.
